Its common name crown of thorns is due to it being associated with Jesus Christ , it is believed it was the crown of thorn which was worn by him.

Euphorbia Milli can grow up to 5 feet in height and its particularly popular as an ornamental as it blooms almost all year round.

The plant has been awarded Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
